Resources CleanChain Transformed Jiafu’s Chemical Management Approach
Jiafu (Fujian) Dyeing & Finishing Co., Ltd., established in 2012 as part of the Sanfo (China) Group, employs over 1,000 staff and specializes in eco-friendly textile production. The company has implemented high-efficiency, energy-saving dyeing equipment and has been recognized as Quanzhou City’s “Intelligent Manufacturing Digital Demonstration Workshop.” Jiafu holds several certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, OEKOTEX® STANDARD 100, BLUESIGN®, and GRS. Its testing center is accredited as a National Qualified Assessment Laboratory, ensuring adherence to green standards across research, development, production, and testing.
Focused on innovation, Jiafu has received national awards such as the “China Fashion Fabric Shortlisted Enterprise” and the “Gold Award for High-Quality Chemical Fiber Fabric.” Committed to sustainability, it has been acknowledged as an “Ecological Governance Advanced Unit,” a “Fujian Provincial Green Factory,” and a “National Textile Industry Green Development Water-Saving Enterprise” for its proactive environmental initiatives.
Before implementing CleanChain, Jiafu (Fujian) Dyeing & Finishing Co., Ltd. faced key challenges in managing chemicals efficiently. The team lacked a centralized platform for researching suppliers or identifying specific chemical products during procurement. Screening chemicals listed on the Chemical Inventory List (CIL) was manual and inconsistent, making it difficult to detect non-compliant substances. Additionally, there was no structured process to evaluate the feasibility of substituting or phasing out non-compliant chemicals. These gaps hindered Jiafu’s ability to maintain compliance and transition to safer alternatives, slowing progress toward its environmental and sustainability goals.
Implementing CleanChain has transformed Jiafu’s approach to chemical management, making daily operations more efficient, transparent, and compliant. The platform enabled systematic chemical screening and compliance assessment, allowing the company to precisely identify non-compliant substances within its Chemical Inventory List (CIL). It also supported feasibility evaluations for safer substitution or phase-out strategies, aligning operations with environmental and regulatory goals.
In procurement, CleanChain helped prioritize ZDHC Level 3 certified suppliers, improving the quality and safety of sourced chemicals. By integrating ZDHC standards into supplier contracts, Jiafu now mandates that all suppliers provide comprehensive chemical compliance certificates. This ensures that newly procured chemicals meet tiered ZDHC requirements from the source, reducing risk and enhancing traceability.
As a result, Jiafu has strengthened its chemical compliance, improved procurement efficiency, and supported its long-term sustainability objectives—ensuring safer, greener operations across its dyeing and finishing processes.
With CleanChain, Jiafu achieved stronger data integration by consolidating formulator profiles into a centralized database, capturing chemical certification status, production processes, and R&D capabilities. This streamlined the screening of ZDHC-aligned suppliers and identification of compliant chemical alternatives.
Additionally, Jiafu fostered deeper collaboration with suppliers, especially for technically complex products, to drive chemical compliance upgrades. Suppliers were encouraged to invest in R&D for ZDHC MRSL Level 3-certified chemicals and innovative solutions. These efforts increased the proportion of Level 3-compliant materials, strengthened supply chain transparency, and supported Jiafu’s ongoing commitment to sustainable chemical management.
